Shop / braceability plantar fasciitis night splint
The Alpha Medical Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint is designed to effectively treat Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonitis, and other conditions recommended by your doctor. This night brace provides fast relief by gently cradling your ankle in a neutral position overnight, allowing the plantar fascia and calf muscle to be passively stretched while you sleep. This gentle stretch helps reduce muscle contracture, inflammation, and associated pain.
The lightweight, low profile shell of the night splint is sturdy and breathable, featuring three padded straps with buckles to ensure immobilization. The padding also has a washable Lycra covering that is cool against the skin for maximum comfort. It is highly recommended to use this product gradually, slowly increasing the duration of use over time as you stretch out the tendons and ligaments in your foot.
The night splint is available in three sizes to accommodate a variety of foot sizes. The size is indicated by a sticker on the brace: S for Small, M for Medium, and L for Large. It is important to select the appropriate size based on your shoe size. The Medium size fits men's shoe size 7.5 to 10 and women's shoe size 8 to 10.5, with a plastic shell foot length of 10 3/8".
To prepare the night splint for use, begin by un-attaching the three straps across the front using the quick-snaps provided. Do not loosen the dorsi-flexion straps at this time. Then, place your foot into the splint, ensuring the heel fits snugly against the heel of the splint. Attach the bottom strap and adjust it until snug, feeding the straps under the dorsi-flexion straps. Continue by attaching the remaining two straps and adjusting them as needed.
For dorsi-flexion adjustment, un-attach the dorsi-flexion straps and simultaneously pull to adjust the dorsi-flexion to the desired level. If pain is experienced with the night splint in the resting position, the wedge can be removed from under the toe for less dorsi-flexion.
When it comes to effectively using the Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint, it is recommended to start with only 1 hour of wear on the first night and gradually increase the duration each night. The splint is adjustable, so you can start with a looser tension and tighten it over time. The goal is to wear the splint overnight or for around 4 to 5 hours at a time.
For cleaning, hand wash the night splint using cold water and mild detergent, and air dry. Do not dry clean, iron, or bleach any part of the brace.
